Image rights and credits.
The joke travels. The credit stays.

A meme can have more than one creator

Majestic Memes brings together pictures and captions from its published meme collections. An image can contain a photograph, illustration, film still, character, caption or watermark created by different people. Copyright and other rights remain with their respective owners.

Visible credits and watermarks are kept in the pictures. A collection credit identifies the archive's curation; it does not identify Majestic Memes as the creator or rights holder of every image.

Help put a name to the picture

If a creator name or source is missing or incorrect, email greg@majesticmemes.com. Include the collection URL, the specific picture and a link to the original publication or other information supporting the correction. A direct meme link from the Share button helps identify the image.

Check the rights before reusing a picture

Browsing, saving a link or seeing an image here does not grant a license to reproduce, sell or commercially use it. Permission requirements depend on the material and the proposed use. Contact the relevant rights holder when permission is needed. Majestic Memes cannot grant rights it does not hold.

When passing a joke along, keep the creator's visible credit attached. Our meme sharing tips explain how to share a link with its context.

Ask for a correction or removal

If you believe an image affects your rights, send an email with:

• The page URL and a description or direct link identifying the image.
• The work or rights involved and your relationship to them.
• A source link or supporting information that explains the concern.
• The correction or removal you are requesting and an email address for a reply.

You can raise a concern without publishing your details on the website. Information in the request is handled as described in our privacy policy. Include enough detail to locate the picture and assess the issue.

Suggesting your own work

If you created a meme you would like to suggest, include the source and the credit you want displayed. Our meme suggestion page explains what to send. A suggestion is not automatically published.
